I am not always happy with the coverage by some of the EBSCO databases. Often, they have a lag-time for adding current content by one to two years. I have emailed them before to let them know that content is missing. Last week a student at our Atlanta library needed an article from the Dec 1999 issue of Architectural Review. According to Art Source it is available full text from 5/1/1993 but this Dec issue is missing (as are other scattered issues). We were able to send a copy from our bound volume in Savannah. Also, the other issues that are online are HTML - not very helpful for an architecture periodical.

If your only putting them in storage then why not? You can always pull them out of storage if the need arises….

Subject: [SERIALST] Selection of Print for Storage
Good morning,
Our library is currently in process of selecting journal titles for storage. I see a lot in the literature about basing storage decisions on coverage in JSTOR, and occasionally Project Muse, but nothing about other databases. We’ve already
stored titles held in JSTOR, and now are considering storage of content covered by EBSCO’s Art Source and Proquest Research Library.
I understand that content is JSTOR is more stable – it is unwise to consider storage of content covered by these other databases?
Many thanks for any input,
Detta
