Summary:
The Temple University Libraries are seeking a creative and energetic individual to fill the position of Serials Supervisor. The incumbent will play a key role in providing access to both print and online serials in a dynamic library currently planning a new, 21st century facility. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Serials Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of the Library Serials Unit, including staff training, instruction, work assignment, evaluation, and overall work flow for the print serials / continuations and binding operations. The incumbent assists the Department Head and Electronic Resources Librarian with the acquisition and maintenance of various online resources. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree. At least one year experience in an academic library, with one or more years in library technical services. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
• Strong planning, analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
• Supervisory experience
• Experience with Serials Solutions or similar electronic resources management tools
• Experience using Innovative Interfaces or other integrated library system.
