Hi, Jessica,
We recently completed a review of all the print journals we were receiving that were non-subscribed content, as we are trying to reduce our print journal inventory to repurpose
our space. In the past we had a staff member who kept track of this inventory and sometimes found other libraries to purchase these unneeded issues as fillers. However, after losing this staff member in a round of layoffs last year, non-subscription print
issues began to pile up.
We contacted several publishers to ask that they discontinue sending the print issues and recycled those we could not find homes for, either with other libraries or the NLM
Print Donation program.
Best Regards,
Joanne

Subject: [SERIALST] Print journals arriving that we don't subscribe to
All,
Lately, my institution has been receiving print issues of journals we don't subscribe to. Does this happen at any of your libraries very often? If so, what do you do with them? My inclination is to just recycle them, but I'm wondering if
anyone takes the time to send them back to the publisher instead.
Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
