This is a sad day, indeed, for everyone in the serials world.

Birdie's name, in my mind, will always be associated with SERIALST. This listserv would not be what it is today without her guiding influence and common sense approach throughout the years.

Please give her family and personal friends my deepest sympathies for their loss.
