The ALCTS CRS Committee on Holdings Information is seeking proposals for presentations at its 2014 ALA Midwinter meeting in Philadelphia, PA. The meeting will be on Saturday, January 25, 2014, from 3:00-4:00 pm. The Committee charge can be found here: http://www.ala.org/alcts/mgrps/crs/cmtes/ats-seruls
Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
o Topic 1 E-journal and print holdings (approaching universal fullness and accuracy)
o Topic 2 Holdings in retrospective conversion and/or preservation projects (conveying what's been reproduced, and addressing gaps)
o Topic 3 Importance and use of holdings information for A & I services (how do they know they're indexing "everything")
o Topic 4 Representation of library holdings as URIs with records provided using the Resource Description Framework
Proposals should be emailed by Monday, November 11th to Kevin Furniss (kfurniss@tulane.edu).
Please include:
o Presentation title
o A brief (1 page or less) summary of the focus of the proposed presentation
o Amount of time needed to make the presentation
o Names and positions of presenter(s)
o Email address(es) of presenter(s)
