I do understand about the institutional vs individual sub rates.
I was asked by someone (who does not work in a library) why we didn’t just send a staff person to pick up a copy of Nature each week at the newsstand, since it is so much less expensive. The nearest newsstand that carries Nature is 60 miles away however.

Subject: NATURE MAGAZINE = $10.00 ON THE NEWSSTAND
Hi folks:
NATURE costs us over $3500 per year at the print subscription price.
The newsstand price is $10.00 per issue. At 52 issues per year, that is only $520.00 a year.
A huge disparity, even allowing for postage.
Are there libraries out there that have found a less expensive way, other than subscription, to obtain their issues of NATURE in a consistent manner?
Very interested to know.
Sincerely,
Caitlin K. Downing
