Note: This message is posted for those subscribers who are ALA ALCTS members.  It is not meant to be an endorsement for any individual candidate, but rather is meant to serve as information for ALA and/or ALCTS members.  Thanks!

Have you heard the lament about not having technical services voices heard on ALA Council?  Well, you have a chance to make a difference.  3 ALCTS members are running for Councilor-at-Large seats in the 2013 election.  They are:

Sharon R. Castleberry

Erica Findley

Olivia M.A. Madison

No matter who else you vote for on your council ballot (you may vote for up to 33 candidates, but may vote for fewer if you chose), please consider including these 3 ALCTS members among those for whom you vote.

In addition, there is a great group of people running for ALCTS offices, with the ballot headed up by Lauren Corbett and Mary Page, candidates for President of ALCTS.

The ballot contains links to biographical information about all the candidates.

Often ALA elections are decided by very few votes; sometimes even one vote has decided an ALCTS election in the past.  Your votes do matter.  Please get involved by voting in the ALA elections and encourage your colleagues to vote.

Brought to you by the 2012-13 ALCTS Nominating Committee:

Cynthia M. Whitacre (Chair)

Eleanor I. Cook (Acquisitions Section)

Shelby E. Harken (Cataloging & Metadata Management Section)

Tara D. Kennedy (Preservation & Reformatting Section)

Paul D. Moeller (Continuing Resources Section)

Ginger (V. K.) Williams (Collection Management Section)
