Capital University's Blackmore Library is seeking a motivated, dynamic and organized individual to serve as the Electronic Resources Librarian. Working in close collaboration with the Director of Library and Information Resources and
the Acquisitions Librarian, the Electronic Resources Librarian is responsible for the overall selection and management of electronic resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Collaborates with the Director of Library and Information Resources and the Acquisitions Librarian in the selection, acquisition and activation of electronic resources.
* Researches and compares vendor products and offers, establishing and maintaining effective vendor relations.
* Negotiates and documents license terms and pricing, collaborating with consortia partners when beneficial.
* Ensures available electronic resources are discoverable by maintaining accurate, timely holdings data in various library systems, such as a link resolver and Millennium.
* Establishes, maintains and troubleshoots access to electronic resources, ensuring prompt response to any reported problems.
* Collects and analyzes usage statistics for electronic resources, including cost analysis.
* Works at the Reference Desk, including evening and weekend rotations.
Qualifications:
* A Master's degree (M.L.I.S. or M.L.S.) from an ALA-accredited Library Science program.
* Demonstrated experience with an Integrated Library System, preferably Innovative's Millennium.
* Demonstrated experience with an Electronic Resource Management System, preferably EBSCO products.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with the campus community and contribute to Capital University's mission, strategic plan, and goals.
* Preferred candidates will have experience administering electronic resources in an academic library setting.
