POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

ELECTRONIC RESOURCES/SCIENCES & TECHNOLOGY LIBRARIAN

The University of the Pacific seeks an Electronic Resources/Sciences and Technology Librarian with energy, initiative, and vision to provide effective leadership and direction in the provision of library resources and services. The librarian’s role in the academy is changing, and that change is particularly apparent in the sciences. The Electronic Resources/Sciences & Technology Librarian takes a leadership role in the development of relationships between the University Library and faculty in Engineering, Computer Sciences, and other natural and physical sciences departments. This librarian develops productive partnerships with faculty for the development of programs and services.

·         Passion for quality library service centered around student learning and characterized by collaboration with faculty in support of teaching and research needs;

 

Additional Skills

Self-assurance and flexibility to find one’s feet quickly and keep one’s balance performing a wide range of activities.  Someone will be happiest at the Library and the University if they are an energetic, committed pitcher-in; if they do not wait for others to define their role, stand on ceremony, or assume a strict construction of their responsibilities; and if they have a broad range of intellectual interests.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The University of the Pacific is an independent coeducational institution with 6400 students and 440 full-time instructional faculty, with campuses in Stockton, San Francisco, and Sacramento..
