Call for Instructors
ALCTS Fundamentals of Collection Assessment (FCA) Web Course
ALCTS is interested in recruiting knowledgeable librarians from all kinds of libraries to teach additional sections of its popular Fundamentals of Collection Assessment online course.
Each course is offered over a seven week period and includes self-paced modules and interaction with the instructors and classmates. This typically consists of six weeks of instruction followed by a one week wrap up. The courses are already developed and ready to use; no additional editing is needed. Instructors participate in evaluations and have opportunities to recommend updates to the course content as needed. Instructors receive a modest honorarium.
To ensure consistency of instruction and offer participants a high value experience, an instructor training module has been designed that includes:
1. Taking the course as a participant.
2. Repeating the course shadowing the instructor, with access to the instructor interface.
3. Team-teaching the course with an experienced instructor.

Membership in ALCTS and ALA is preferred, but not required. All qualified librarians are encouraged to apply.
How to Apply:
If you are interested in becoming an instructor for FCA or another ALCTS Web Course, please complete the online instructor application at https://alctsprogram.wufoo.com/forms/alcts-fca-web-course-instructor-application/ .
You will be asked to:
· Include a statement of interest (300 words maximum)
· Attach a copy of your resume.
Upon submission, the application will be reviewed by ALCTS Continuing Education Committee and the course instructors.
The deadline for applications is October 31, 2012.
