Thanks to many of you who have helped us here at UC Davis libraries in the past by answering my questions about our Togic tackbind machine, and by supplying spare parts you were no longer using. We continued to use our machine until recently when we could no longer refurbish our heating elements. As a result, we replaced that machine (originally purchased in the mid-1970s) with a new Handi-Bind (also called Perfo-Binder NCL-308) machine which does the same operation, but much more quickly and efficiently; we are very happy with the new machine. We purchased ours through Mekatronics Inc. in Port Washington, NY who imported it for us from Japan. We use the new machine as we did the old: to bind newspapers that will be housed in the general stacks, and, occasionally, incomplete serial volumes. If anyone is interested, I would be happy to answer any questions about the Handi-Bind. Thanks again for your help!
