We used Safety-Keen Systems Inc. They provided us with barrels to fill with our microfilm and fiche. Because they charge by the pound you will want to remove the microfilm from the spools. I think they are located throughout the country and they provide environmentally safe disposal.

Subject: [SERIALST] Weeding microfiche and microfilm

Since the Microforms discussion lists seems to have ceased, does anyone have suggestions on where to look for what to do with old microforms that are being weeded?

We are weeding ones that are covered by JSTOR, so there would be no point in sending a list to backserv.

Thank you for any assistance. I will post summaries to the list if requested.
