We use a Dewey Decimal call number, and just change the suffix of the last line. We have one title that experienced 17 title changes and the department wanted all of them kept together. As you can imagine it was quite an adventure to trace and catalog these titles and it is easier to find them on the shelf than to look them up in the catalog especially since it was a change of scope for some of them rather than just a change of title.

I was hoping to find out how others handle title changes?  Do you shelve the old title with the new or keep them separate(for those shelved by title)?
