The Serials Cataloging Coordinator plans, coordinates, and supervises the activities involving serials cataloging. S/He performs original serials cataloging and monitors production and evaluates and implements changes in policies, procedures, and workflow.
The Coordinator reports to the Head, Electronic Resources and Serials Management.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Required: MLS from an ALA accredited program or a combination of relevant education and experience.
Required: Five years of cataloging experience in an academic or research library, with at least three years of original serials cataloging experience; experience with cataloging serials according to CONSER; familiarity with MARC format for
holdings; current awareness of national trends and developments in cataloging, metadata standards and information retrieval, including RDA and FRBR; reading knowledge of at least one language in addition to English and facility in working with a variety of
languages; demonstrated success in training and coordinating the work of others; ability to demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of the applications of new technology as applied in library settings; excellent written and oral communication skills; commitment
to collaborative work; strong analytical and interpersonal skills; commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Preferred: Two years of supervisory experience; knowledge of the use and applications of Aleph; ability to read multiple foreign languages.
