We’re a Voyager library, rather than SirsiDynix, but I presume they’re not that different in prediction patterns.  We use students for routine check-in.  What we’ve done with this title, since it’s so complicated and (unfortunately) not “normalized irregular” as far as I can tell, is leave the prediction as weekly using only the chronology.  We have the 1st issue of the vol. routed to staff to “fix” the predictions for the entire vol., adding enumeration and deleting weeks that are to be skipped.  That does take time at the start of the year but means there should be no problem at the time of check-in.  If there’s an alternative, I’d love to know about it.

Our check-in note:

Predicting weekly, but is biweekly w/ exceptions; check in w/out alternate enumeration; ROUTE no. 1 of each vol.& any incorrect predictions to staff to check masthead & edit/deletepredicted

Subject: [SERIALST] new republic

Hello All,

Has anyone with SirsiDynix Workflows recently created a serials pattern for New Republic? According to their website, cover dates for the remainder of 2011 are (Thursdays) March 3 and 24, April 7 and 28, May 26, June 9 and 30, July 14, Aug. 4 and 18, Sep. 15, Oct. 6 and 20, Nov. 3 and 17, Dec. 1, 15 and 29. Trying to avoid much editing during serial check in.

Thanks very much,

Hallie
