Access to Patron Driven to Article Rental
Sunday, January 9th, 4:00-5:30, San Diego Convention Center
Room 02 (Heather Staines, Chair; Anneliese Taylor, Vice-Chair)
Learn about some newer access options that meet your
library needs. Some universities now require faculty to publish in Open Access
journals. Bob Schatz (BioMed Central, Springer) explains how your library can
support this movement and how the Springer Open journals expand publication
options. Patron-driven purchasing promises to match eBook purchases with
precise researcher/student needs. Kari Paulson (EBL) details this new
“on-demand” acquisition option. Finally, article rental offers
varying access options that tailor fit content acquisition to researcher needs.
Bill Park (DeepDyve) reveals how individuals and libraries can access valuable
