We started subscribing to two
copies of the magazines we used to get from Prebound. We put one copy out on
the shelves and hold the second copy until we have a complete volume to send to
our regular binder.

Subject: Re: [SERIALST] Prebound Periodicals
Having heard from people on and off-list, I am thinking we
should cut our losses with Prebound Periodicals. Let me now refocus on my
second question:
Do you have other suggestions for alternative
companies (and contact info) that we could use in their place for such
periodical titles that we wish to receive prebound?
Thanks
for your help with this!

wishes,

Dear
Serial Friends,
1. Does
anyone know what happened to Prebound Periodicals?
Our library worked with them for decades with no problems whatsoever; but
recently, we are having trouble even contacting them. Our library paid a
subscription to Prebound Periodicals (quarterlies) on 11/01/09 for 3
titles covering 2010:
Sports Illustrated
Time
U.S. News & World Report
(They cashed the check 5 days later.)
The problem is that we have not received the bound journals. For months now,
we’ve tried claiming the last quarter 2009 of Sports Illustrated
(Oct-Dec 2009) plus now we are trying to claim the first quarter of Sports
Illustrated, Time, & U.S. News World Report.
Our contact person and information was:
Betty Denny
Prebound Periodicals LLC
631 SW Jewell Ave.
Topeka, KS 66606
866-991-9440
Fax 785-215-8761
bdenny@preboundperiodicals.kscoxmail.com
After having spent many months and hours and a lot of staff time trying to
contact Prebound Periodicals (using every phone number, fax number, email
address, and other lead that came our way), we are at a loss. Prebound
Periodicals seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth (with our
check). Does anyone know what happened to them? Has anyone had contact
with them over the past 9 months?
2. If
it turns out that the company has gone out-of-business, do you have other
suggestions for alternative companies (and contact info) that we could use in
their place for such titles as these that we wish to receive prebound?
I
would sincerely appreciate your help with this!
Best
wishes,
Julie
