I’m curious to know how other libraries are handling this title. Beginning w/ vol. 61, two numbered issues are only available online. We’ve received 61:1, 61:3, and 61:4; I presume that 61:2 is the 1st that’s only online and that 61:5 will also be only online. For those libraries that display complete MARC format holdings, will/would you create separate 863 fields for each non-gap break, or just show the complete nos. as owned, whether it’s “owned” as print or online, with an explanatory note?
We have Voyager currently and as far as I can tell, Voyager’s opac display doesn’t distinguish between 863’s with ‡w g and ‡w n. Here’s how I’ve currently got the holdings displaying; when we bind vol. 61 it’ll become an issue:
v. 41, no. 1 - v. 45, no. 3 (1990:Jan. - 1994:May)
v. 45, no. 5 - v. 47, no. 2 (1994:Sep. - 1996:Mar.)
(1996:May - 1996:Nov.)
v. 48, no. 1 - v. 53, no. 5 (1997:Jan. - 2002:Sep.)
v. 54, no. 1 - v. 59, no. 4 (2003:Jan. - 2008:July)
v. 59, no. 6 - v. 60, no. 6 (2008:Nov. - 2009:Nov.)
Recent receipts:
v. 61, no. 4 (2010 July/Aug.)
v. 61, no. 3 (2010 May/June)
v. 61, no. 1 (2010 Jan-Feb)
Notes: Beginning with v. 61 (2010), 2 nos. of each vol. (e.g. v. 61, no. 2) are only available online.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts, suggestions, etc.
