The ALCTS CCS Catalog Management Interest Group invites
proposals for presentations for our meeting at Midwinter in Boston. The group
will be meeting on Saturday, January 16th, from 1:30-3:30.
The charge of the Catalog Management Discussion Group is
as follows: to discuss the various issues involved with cataloging,
classification, and authority control after the initial cataloging has been
performed. In this respect, catalog management is defined as the continuous
upgrading and updating of a catalog, regardless of its format, be it card,
microform, book or on-line. The group will provide a forum for exchanging
information and discussing techniques, new developments, and problems in
managing the bibliographic integrity of library catalogs.
Proposals are due by November 30, 2009.
