I would recommend that your “tech guru” join the SUSHI Developers email list.  That’s the best place to get all the latest information and ask questions of others who have already or are currently implementing SUSHI.  There are vendors on there who have some test sites set up, etc.  It’s a pretty active list and the people on it are very helpful with all the technical details.
