Library Associates Companies (LAC) seeks a Serials/Acquisitions Specialist (Library Specialist III) to work part-time (24 hours per week) at our client’s Santa Monica, CA office. Our ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a special or research library environment and experience with integrated library systems, SirsiDynix preferred. Responsibilities include: Ordering/receiving periodicals & standing orders, claiming missing journal issues, receiving monographs, processing subscription renewals and acquisitions invoices, and sorting daily mail.


QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • 2 years of college or equivalent, PLUS 2 years of experience in a special or research library environment, preferably in serials or acquisitions;
  • Knowledge of standard library practices and operations, preferably in serials or acquisitions;
  • Experience with integrated library systems (Sirsi strongly preferred);
  • Good computer skills (knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Word required);
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Superb customer service skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail required.
