Volunteers Needed for Bike Month Morning Commuter Outreach

Attention, Early Birds!
GCC is joining with Gainesville’s Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Board to provide outreach aimed at bicycle commuters in March (Florida’s Bike Month).
We will be promoting safe bike commuting by greeting and offering coffee, OJ, and light breakfast fare to early morning bike commuters at different locations around Gainesville. Our focus will be on encouragement and education, offering support primarily to those who ride a bike out of necessity.
We’ll be giving general information about cycling safely and legally, as well as providing coffee and light breakfast fare.
These ”Commuter Cafe” events will be held from 0530 until 0730 on each of 4 mornings this month. The first event will be on Thursday, March 8th, and the remaining 3 events will all be on Mondays (March 12th, March 19th, and March 26th). If you can’t make it on Thursday, consider helping at one of the Monday events.
I need at least 2 volunteers to assist at each event to help me set up a tent and tables, serve food and drinks, and assist with light mechanical duties (using a screwdriver and Allen wrench, pumping up tires). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Please bring a headlamp or flashlight, if you have one. BPAB and GCC will provide everything else.
The first event on Thursday (03/08) will be held at the corner of Waldo Road and NW 39th Avenue, not far from Grace Marketplace, adjacent to the Waldo Road Connector Trail.
Email or call/text me if you can commit to helping out.
Thanks,
-Ally
