Bee-17/HighBee ride is a GO, BUT ... Ed Gardner 23 Mar 2013 08:01 EDT

There is a blob of RADAR yellow-intensity rain clouds passing through right now that is dropping a little water shortly before ride time as currently scheduled at 9:15; any delay, if necessary should be no more than 30 minutes or so; I hear minor thunder here at our SW side of town location and the rain appears to be moving through from SW to NE at this time, so we should be good to go by ride time or shortly thereafter.

The RADAR looks fairly clear for several hours after this event passes through. We "might" need to delay the start AT THE STARTING MEETING for a few minutes, if necessary. I intend to drive to the start this time and wait out any residual sprinkles in the car, if necessary. I apologize for causing this weather by thoroughly cleaning my bike and cassette sprockets on Thursday.

If we encounter actual showers during the ride, we will take available actions by A) donning any of the usually ineffective rain gear we thought to bring along, and B) getting wet. This is the kind of day that separates "Real Men" from Dry Men with Good Sense; which will you be?
