I hope he didn't have a mechanical incident or accident. I don't imagine he
has a physical problem as I rode with him very briefly before he left for
PBP, he rode away from me as if I was standing still, and he was just
finishing up a 10 hr/210 mile training ride. As you know, that is averaging
21 miles/hr for 10 hr straight. I don't imagine too many cyclists in Gville
can do that even on their best day ever. I personally checked over his
whole bike for him before he left for PBP, so I know everything is in
working order. I even checked the condition/wear of his tires and all the
cables. :)

fast on these ultra events is dangerous. I witness several serious
accidents on PBP 2003. Another factor is mechanical failure... Last is DNF
(did not finish). Doubt Andrea would of DNF unless he was seriously hurt.
FYI: Andrea made history last year by cycling the 3rd fastest Boston -
Montreal - Boston (BMB) time, on his very FIRST 1200K/750 miles ultra
event. BMB is considered the American PBP. Some consider BMB more
challenging than PBP.

Has anyone heard from Andrea? An update and word that he's OK would be
appreciated.
