GCCMail: San Felasco off-road bike events Lee Ross 19 Aug 2009 08:54 EDT

Mark your calendars for two upcoming off-road bicycle events at San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park:

Wed Sep 2: Night bicycle ride (see details below, and if you have questions, e-mail info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx)
Sun Sep 6: 8 Hours of Labor (second annual eight-hour mountain bike team and solo event, for details, see GoneRiding.com)

Night bicycle ride details:
The Friends of San Felasco Citizen Support Organization (CSO) sponsors monthly full moon off-road bicycle rides, typically held on the Wednesday closest to the full moon. Everyone is welcome, beginner or expert, and all will have someone to ride with. This is a guided ride, and there will be fast and slower groups as needed.

Next month's ride is Wednesday, September 2, and starts at 7:30 P.M from the Park HQ (directions below). Please be there and ready to ride by that time. It does NOT start from the trailhead.

Night rides require that you provide your own primary lights for off-road duty: the brighter, the better. You should also carry a back-up light in case of emergency. Primary lights should be capable of a minimum burn time of two hours.

A $5 donation is requested, which goes toward trail maintenance.
