GCCMail: Phifer Flatwoods Picnic at Magnesia Springs
George Edwards 30 Aug 2005 18:08 EDT
Dear Friends:
The Alachua Conservation Trust is having a picnic at Magnesia Springs
this Saturday to celebrate the successful acquisition of the Phifer
Flatwoods tract. 9 AM to 9 PM. Magnesia Springs is located adjacent to
the Flatwoods tract.
This is a private event for all who have provided assistance and support
to ACT in acquiring the Phifer Flatwoods, or who have otherwise given to
ACT. GCC members are invited because we gave to the cause. If you
didn't give as an individual, you will have a chance at the picnic.
Bring your own picnic, and ACT will provide suitable beverages. They
say they will have a grill fired-up to incinerate your animal flesh or tofu.
Bicyclists can leave the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail at SE 152nd Street
(West of 325), go South 1/2 mile to CR 2082, Left on 2082 to the
Magnesia Springs Road (a total of one mile from the Trail). It would be
appropriate to arrive on bicycles, but that last bit may be limerock, so
skinny tires beware.
See you there. Bring your checkbooks.
Cheers,
George
