GCCMail: Strays ride the Loop around the Lake Saturday Nov 21, 9 am R. Wilt 20 Nov 2009 02:08 EST

On Saturday Nov 21, Strays will ride the Loop Around the Lake, taking in the roads that circle Newnans Lake, passing thru Windsor and Rochelle on the way to the Gainesville Hawthorne Trail. 32 - 35 miles of scenic riding.

Arrive at Boulware Springs at 9 am to depart at 9:15.
We will meet at the picnic tables next to the dirt lot.

Speed 2.5 - 46 mph, depending on terrain. Average speed has typically been 12 - 14 mph in recent times.

This ride is mostly flat except for the hills of Kincaid Road, at the
beginning of the ride.

There will be two convenience store / rest room stops during the ride. The first stop will be at about the 3 mile point in the ride, for those who need a bathroom break, before the next stop at Tim's Fast Nickel (at about mile 22).

No pace lines, no racing, no wheel sucking, just a fun social ride.

After the ride the hungry may head to a local restaurant for lunch.

Helmets are REQUIRED on all Strays rides, mirrors recommended, music machines and headphones forbidden.

Safety protocols are always observed on Strays rides
