In light of calls for a legal response to the recent
cyclist death, and the question of what would happen
if it were a bus load of children......It might be
instructive to consider the outcome of one of the
worst 'bus accidents' in US history caused by a DUI.

Though the DUI driver got 10+ years for his 'crime', I
recall reading in the newspaper that he now has his
driver's license back.
Without a finding of malicious intent these
'accidents' don't usually amount to much legally for
the negligent and irresponsible driver.
