Hey everybody,

This message is directed at anyone who has had experience in dealing
with insurance companies when injured by a vehicle while riding a bike.
I broke my collar bone the other day as a result of a driver pulling out
in front of me on 43rd street and he was determined to be at fault and
was cited. Does anybody have any advice as to how to proceed in dealing
with his insurance company to get reimbursed for damage to my bike and
covering the balance of the expenses that my own auto insurance doesnt
cover such as medical fees, lost wages, etc? I'm considering getting a
lawyer which would make everything a lot easier, but that would also
cost me 1/3 of the money I retrieve from the at fault party's insurance
and if it's not difficult to do by myself I would prefer to save the
money. Please advise.
