GCCMail: Sunday Sunrise Ride - Change of Format Jonathan Jones 21 Sep 2007 14:56 EDT

Hi Everyone

After much soul searching and sleepless nights - I have decided to break
my own steadfast rule and change the format of the Sunday Sunrise rides
for the weeks leading up to the Santa Fe Century. Every few years I
need to show myself that I still have the legs for a century and this is
one of those years. My initial email for this coming Sunday said that I
would just tack on miles to the end of the ride, but I fear that the
temptation to stop at the Chevron after the Sunrise ride will be too
great.

So..... for the next few Sundays I will be upping the mileage and
slowing the speed of the Sunrise Rides to prep for the century. Once
the century weekend is over, the ride will return to its usual format.

Reformatted Sunday Sunrise Ride - Sunday September 23rd.
Time: Meet at 7am for a 7:15 departure
Where: Chevron
Distance - *50 miles* (see the Traxler ride map on the club website)
Pace: *18mph average* (meaning we will cruise around 19mph).

I know there are some who come on the ride specifically so they can be
back by 9am - So how about we all start out together? Those who want to
do the regular Sunday route (38 miles) can split off at the end of
Millhopper. I hope that some will want to stick to the 38 miles and
others will want to come with me.

Thanks!
Jonathan
