GCCMail: looking for 26" rear wheel
rbrowning@xxxxxx 08 Jan 2007 18:25 EST
Hi There GCCers,
I'm trying to convert a new one speed cruiser tandem to something with
gears (you want the ultimate knee buster, a 50 lb. one speed tandem is
it). 7 or 8 might be enough.
Does anyone have a STRONG 26" wheel, min 36 spokes, that is in good
condition? Threaded hub for freewheel would be OK, but a Shimano hub for
8/9 cassette would also be OK. The important thing is that it is still
in good condition without too many miles. Tandems eat rear wheels.
I'd prefer a solid cro-mo axle, but hollow w/skewer is possible if it is
high quality.
If you have a rear derailler and/or shifter to go with it, so much the
better.
happy trails,
rb
