Cyclists Blow Out The End of the Season in Style
Oct 1, 2011

BROOKER, FL -- With a smaller turnout than we've seen in recent
months, the officials were able to quickly assign start order and get
the event rolling fairly quickly. While the sixteen competitors
enjoyed the cooler temperatures which graced the final installment,
they were surprised by a strong wind which brought gusts well into the
20s.

Mike Gamble, competing in the Merckx category, was the first one out
of the gate, and the battle quickly heated up in that class. Rob
Robins and Ed Dunne went mano-a-mano and by the end of the day there
was no clear victor, and Lambert Vaes snuck in just one second behind
them.

The Aero field lacked all of the drama of the Merckx field as Ryan
Saylor blew away his previous record, and everyone else in the field
in the process. Derek Schanze and Ken Sallot rounded out the top
three.

After the event was over, everyone went to the Circle K and enjoyed
milk and cookies while awards were handed out. With nothing to show
for the day except a sugar rush, full tummies, and sore legs, it was
determined that everyone was a winner.

Here are the results:
