GCCMail: New Year's Resolution/Help our Good Commishes Get Their Mojo Back

Club,
County Commissioner Mike Byerly and City Commissioner Randy Wells are
two outspoken cycling advocates, both on the recreational and commuter
level. They are both avid cyclists. Randy even ran on an aggressive
pro-commuter platform. Unfortunately, their spirits and chutzpah for
our cause were a little shaken, as I'm sure all of ours were, at the
last meeting concerning the 16th/23rd redevelopment.
For my New Year's Resolution, I want to commit to helping Mike and
Randy educate their fellow commissioners about the need to continue
building in-lane facilities, not cowering to fear, emotion, and the
obvious invasion of the culture war into an infrastructure issue. I
also want to help Mayor Craig Lowe, the only one of all City and
County commishes who said we need to keep building in-lane facilities,
to continue on that track.
I look forward to all of us working together on these issues.
Happy New Year,
James Thompson
Advocacy Director
