GCCMail: poe springs road update

Hey, all,
My "long" ride of the week is usually the Sunrise 38 mile loop. Family schedule conflicts and really cold temps have pushed me to do middle of the day Sat or Sun rides.
Yesterday, I rode straight up 441 to High Springs, turned left on 41 South, turned right (west) on CR 340/Poe Springs Road and was greeted with a nice surprise. 340 W is totally repaved with a nice wide bike lane all the way to Poe Springs and connecting to the already bike laned 340 that runs west to SR 47. I realize A riders and Gliders may know this...but there may be some folks like me who do not get out there often. In fact I had stopped riding Poe Springs Road since it was too narrow and had crumbling pavement.
Passing Poe Springs Park, I turned left (south) at CR 337/NW 298th street. The old crumbling road was gone. It is repaved all the way to its intersection with CR 232/NW 78th Ave. There is no bike lane...but it is very wide and virtually no cars. At 78th, I turned left (east) to come home to 241 and MH Road.
Now, NW 78th is the same. If you do this loop beware of the S-curve just east of the 337/78th intersection. If you arrive when cars arriving in both lanes do...there is not a lot of room for you. But, I got to see fox squirrels, alive and dead, lots of empty road with no cars for 15-20 minutes at a time, lots of rolling country through forest and open field. A real nice ride.
