GCCMail: Ride Report: Developers
james thompson 14 May 2010 14:57 EDT
List,
I won't do this every time we ride, but I wanted to let everyone know
how our first official group ride went as the "Developers." We had
twelve riders, one absolutely new to group riding and one who has been
on four rides with us and is becoming quite accomplished. We were
lucky to have a greater number of experienced riders than newbies, a
trend I want to continue by encouraging GCC vets to show up with their
teaching caps on (thanks to those who did, you guys were great!).
Special thanks to Kris and Josh for leading the ride, as I had to stay
late and close at work. Its cool to see the Developers alums taking
up the slack.
If you show up to the ride and we don't know you, tell us who you are,
and expect to have a little "meeting" before the ride so we all know
who are "newbies" and who are the "teachers." The level of formality
is a little more than a typical GCC ride, since this is a teaching
ride, but we have equal the amount of fun.
Thanks again to the Developers, and from now on we'll just announce
the rides without a report.
James T.
