Hi all,
I would really like to do this ride with George & you all for Trails Day
this Saturday, but I bought another car and still haven't gotten the hitch
installed for my bike rack(it is ordered but won't be here on time for this
ride), so I need to ask .........
Is anyone else going to this ride who would be willing to give me & my bike
a ride along to Trenton ? I live in NE G'vlle, near Waldo Rd & NE 23 ave
(near Sachel's restaurant)...I would be happy to help pay for gas and would
appreciate it so much. Feel free to call me 371-8695 or cell 317-7094
Thanks!!
Carol Glavin

In honor of National Trails Day, the EZ Riders will join the Office of
Greenways and Trails for their ride this Saturday, 6 June, on the Nature
Coast Trail. The ride is scheduled to start at 9:00 AM, so we might as
well use that time to be sociable. There is no mass start, no support
(probably some refreshments at the Depot in Trenton), and no fixed route
other than the Trail Just a pleasant, easy ride on a nice flat trail. If
the crowd is too big at the start, we can wait for them to thin out before
we start. Why invite hassle?
The ride starts from the Old Train Depot on North Main Street in Trenton.
To reach the trailhead, go West on Newberry Road (SR 26) through Newberry,
and turn Right at the (only) traffic light in Trenton. The Depot will be
on your Left in a couple of blocks. Takes about 35 minutes from our house
near I-75.
We will doubtless go at least to the Suwanee River to see if the sturgeon
are jumping, and perhaps make a side trip to Fanning Springs to see if the
Floridan Aquifer is still operating properly.
Lunch after at the Quilt Shoppe, or where ever. Bring sunscreen, water,
bug juice, what ever. Suitable for beginners and children. We leave no
one behind.
Call with question - me at 333.3184, or Trail Manager Kirk Marhefka
352.535.5181.
Cheers,
George
