GCCMail: Saturday Sunrise Ride - PLEASE READ!! Jonathan 14 Sep 2009 09:37 EDT

Saturday Sept 19th, meet at 7:15am for a 7:30 SHARP departure from the
Chevron. Please by there by 7:15am this time or even a bit earlier (see
note below as to why). 70 miles approx, 19.5 average, 22 max pace for
most of the ride. We will stop a few times and group up at turns and
top of hills. Come on out and get trained for the upcoming centuries!

PLEASE SEE IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THIS RIDE BELOW:

----------------------------------

As some of you might recall from Bob Howland's previous emails, there
will be a film crew to take some footage of our ride on Sat the 19th.
There will be some initial taping before the ride and probably some
during the ride as well. They will also be taping Bob riding solo for a
bit. So I just wanted to let everyone know well in advance that we will
be helping the crew get good footage and generally just be amicable to
their efforts - this might very well involve some delays at the start
etc... I quote the following from Bob:

---
"The videographers will be there (weather permitting) for shooting video
and stills on Sat 19 Sept at the Chevron, 715-730 am, probably using the
station's plate glass sunflowers as a background. This may cause a mild
delay in the start of the ride. They will film the group leaving and on
MH Rd...still assuming this will happen from the moving car they are
in. They want to shoot me on Chestnut Hill, alone on 241, and at my
stop point NW 135th St and MH Road intersection. So, I will pull out of
the ride when they need me and go off to do the solo parts they need.
You all can continue on the ride with hopefully minimal disruption.

Further, I really hope most or all of the people who rode with me that
day or who are regular Sunrise riders came make it on the 19th for the
portion of the ride when the video and still shoot all of us. I think
it will be fun to do...and fun to see all of you on my TV screen while I
lounge on the sofa...a real small way of saying thanks for what various
people have done to help me in my recovery."
----

My understanding is that this footage will be part of a program about
heart attacks, knowing the signs, prevention etc... So I think it is
pretty important that we accommodate. Also of course it helps show off
the club to the community!!

So everyone make sure your bikes are clean, your GCC jerseys on (if you
have), and your guts sucked in!!!!!

Thanks!
Jonathan
