GCCMail: Cycling Video Project (no sender) 10 Nov 2007 15:40 EST

Hi, my name is Joel Hackman. I'm a student at UF studying film, and I'm also on the UF cycling team. I'm doing a final project for a video production class about cycling and cycling safety in Gainesville, and I'm looking to interview some people active in the Gainesville cycling community.

We all love cycling, and we all acknowledge a certain degree of risk involved when we pedal out on the road each day. As young cyclist I had a hard time reassuring my parents of my safety when I began riding. From the many crash stories I have heard, it is sometimes hard to reassure myself of my safety, but nevertheless, we keep on
riding. With this video project I aim to do two things.
First, I want to investigate what causes a fallen cyclist to get back on the bike and continue to ride. Second, I want to illustrate the need to make Gainesville a safer place to ride.

I am looking for riders who have been in any kind of accident and continue to ride. I would like to conduct a brief interview which does not require appearing on camera. I am very interested to hear your stories.

Please contact me if you are interested in participating. You can reach me by either of the following:
Phone: (561) 308-8421
Email: jhack31@xxxxxxx

Thank you,

Joel Hackman

Ride Safely.
