For those of you that may be interest I pass this along as public service
message:
A forum on free bicycle repair programs will be held Sunday, November 18th
from 2-5 PM at the downtown community plaza. After the discussion, bicycle
mechanics will be sharing some information on basic bicycle repair, followed
by a bicycle ride through downtown. Please contact
xxxxxx@xxxxxxxxxx for more information, or to volunteer your time
or tools to organizing this event!
The Gainesville Community Bicycle Project What it is:
It is the concept that the bicycle represents the most affordable, healthy,
and environmentally sound form of transportation and recreation.
It is the idea that a bicycle can challenge us to go further and gives us
the mobility to go places on our own where we might not otherwise have the
means to go.
It is an ongoing mission; a vision to provide free advice, tools, and parts
for bicycle repair to everyone in our community. It is the idea that knowing
how to fix a bicycle can be empowering, and that sharing that knowledge with
others can strengthen ties and build alliances between neighborhoods.
It is a means for better cooperation and communication, for skill sharing
and confidence building.
