I was hoping some GCC members would come ride Tour de Guava! The RBA (Regional Brevet Administrator) says it's nice and flat, unlike the July 200k :-)

You can get registration information and a link to The Tour De Guava 200km, on August 5th, at our original site: www.bike4one.com/brevets or directly from: www.tampacycling.com/tourdeguava The link for the Wingate Inn which is our Host Motel where we will start from 07:00 am on Saturday morning August 5th. Call the motel with their direct phone number 813-349-8170 for your reservations. Be sure to mention the Tour De Guava Bike ride for your discounted rate of $79.00 for two Queen Beds (Junior Suites) plus 12% state and bed tax. The rooms are on a first come first serve basis. There are rooms available for both Friday and Saturday evening. This is also a host motel for Busch Gardens which is nearby.
Tampa 200 km - Saturday, 5th August 2006 - Tour de Guava:
The Tour de Guava 200km is a combination of riding some of the streets of Tampa?s inner city, through ?The Hole in the Wall?, following the water along a city bike trail, Crossing across Tampa Bay on the Gandy Bridge Bicycle Trail, a new Control 4 at Honeymoon Island State Recreational Area (Lunch Served Here) (Riders required to pay $1.00 entry and turn in receipt with Brevet Card for verification of control time and date),the entire length of The Pinnellas Trail through St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs, and back to Tampa Palms Country Club. We took out some of the turns in the inner city to speed up the ride, added the Honeymoon Island Control, and eliminated the out and back on the Suncoast Trail..
Lodging:
For those wishing to arrive the evening before, The Wingate Inn, on 17301 Dona Michelle Dr. & Bruce B. Downs is our Host Motel with rooms normally $99 per night, but if you mention The Tour de Guava Bike Event you will receive the Special Bike Rate of $79.00 plus 12% state and bed tax for two queen beds. Free internet in rooms, free continental breakfast buffet served 6am to 10am. (Scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, cereals, fruit, fruit juices, Danish, etc. (Great Breakfast) The Phone #: 813-971-7676. Directions to the Wingate Inn: I-75 just north of I-4 to exit # 270. East to Bruce B. Downs. Turn right, North on Bruce B. Downs two blocks to Dona Michelle Dr. on your right and the Wingate Inn sets back off the road.
Registration:
Wingate Inn Friday evening August 4th, 6pm till 8pm. Early morning registration at the same location and Brevet starting point from 6am till 6:30 am. All other registrants will have to wait until after the ride start to register.

Preregistration / Registration week of the event!
Please don't wait this long unless absolutely necessary. I need time to process your registration, print personal brevet cards, and have enough volunteer staff and equipment for the event. As a minimum, please send in a complete registration 24 hours prior to the event.
