GCCMail: 15mm crank bolt remover Jim Gross 29 Apr 2006 21:09 EDT

I'm hoping someone might know the answer to my question.

I have a 1982 Trek 736 road bike with a Suntour Superbe crank. The
crank looks very much like a Campy crank of that vintage. The crank
arms are fastened with a 15mm bolt (actually has 15 mm written on the
bolt). There is very little clearance between the head of the bolt and
the crank, so a standard 15mm socket will not work (uses a 22mm crank
remover).

I am wondering if the Campagnolo 769 Crank Bolt Wrench will work to
remove the crank bolt on my Suntour Superbe crank. I think Campy 769
tool is sometimes referred to as the "Peanutbutter wrench".

Thanks,
Jim Gross
