GCCMail: info on the Tuesday Night Interval session(s)

Someone asked me a question about the interval session, namely what
level of rider this was geared towards.
My thought is that we would regroup on the recovery portions, and ride
together during the warm-up and cool-down. Obviously, because each
individual rider is going to be different, the "on" portion of the
interval will probably have each rider on their own, we may even try
staggering the "on" portion by 10-15 seconds just to make sure everyone
gets their own best workout.
While intervals are not easy, overall, I think the ride should probably
be do-able for anyone who is comfortable riding with the gliders (or the
sunrise/sunset crowds). It's possible some other club riders would be
OK because we will try to regroup during the rest portions, but the
nature of intervals might just leave some tired. Actually, if we do
them right, we should all be tired at the end. :)
Someone new to riding may find this workout a bit challenging; be honest
with yourself.
This week the plan is 6x5 minute intervals, with about 6-8 minutes
recovery between each one. This may be a pretty challenging workout.
Once again, this is a structured interval session, not a "hard group
ride". The one thing I ask is that everyone participating respect that.
The route will probably be Chevron to the Dairy Farm to 237 to 235 to
Lacrosse to 1493 to Brooker to 235 to Lacrosse to 121 south to 156th
avenue to the Dairy Farm back to the chevron. This is a close
approximation(the dotted lines) : http://www.gccfla.org/maps/NEmonteocha.gif
This week will sort of be an experiment. If it works well, we may turn
it into a regular event to help get people geared up for the fall events.
If you have any questions, drop me a note.
