Hello,

My name is Tony, and I met a man named Joe (don't know his last name) on the Hawthorne Trail this morning coming into Gainesville. He got me in touch with someone who told me to email the Gainesville Cycling Club with my predicament.

I originally arrived in Florida several months ago finishing a tour from NYC, which took me up to Maine and then down to Gainesville. Until yesterday I've been staying on a farm in Fort McCoy, helping to develop the property in exchange for a place to stay for the winter until I figured out my next step. I'm an artist, and last month I got into a group show this Friday for the Gainesville ArtWalk. I am back here to prepare for it, and then I am flying back to NYC the next Tuesday.

Originally I had arrangements to stay in Gainesville this week (people I met through Warmshowers.org), but unfortunately those people backed out on me at the last minute, leaving me in Gainesville without a place to stay, and it's hard to find another host on such short notice. I can manage by camping outside of town, but with rain on the forecast these next couple days I'd rather avoid that situation.

So I'm reaching out for a place to stay, or even a lawn where I can put up my tent. Camping in the rain isn't an issue so much as taking down camp and riding several miles through pouring rain back into town. After Friday my situation will not be so dire.

So if you know of any place in town where I can put up a tent I would be extremely thankful!

All the best,
Tony Wylen
