Hello, all,
The COVID-19 pandemic goes on, the Delta variant is rampant, and many events and plans are either on hold or questionable, but one thing never stops: LITTER!
Your GCC crew plan to pick up litter along our designated Adopt-A-Road route next Friday, August 20th, starting at 0800. This cleanup is one of our Club’s quarterly events uphold our commitment to Keep Alachua County Beautiful. We will pick up roadside litter along a 2-mile stretch of North Main Street, from 8th Ave to 39th Ave.
Per our usual, we will meet in the parking lot on the Main Street Plaza Shopping center, on the south end (nearest to Zaxby’s) at 0745, divide into teams, and plan to start the litter cleanup at 0800.
Trash grabbers/tongs and safety vests will be provided. Please bring your own work gloves. Closed-toed shoes are recommended, as is a hat. Bring a surgical-type face mask to wear at your discretion. We will be out in the fresh air, but safety first.
The more volunteers, the faster we finish! Let’s help keep up GCC’s excellent reputation as the most dependable Adopt-A-Road crew in town.
Please reply to me via email if you plan to help out. Feel free to contact me with any questions, via email or call/text: (352) 745-2011.
Thanks, and stay safe,
-Ally Gill
