Dear GCC--
If you ride on NW 39th Ave. near Santa Fe College you should
beware of the storm water grating in the eastbound bike lane
at 83rd Ave. The grating itself seems OK (at least I've
ridden over it dozens of times without incident), but the way
it was installed leaves a wheel-sized slot right in the middle
of the bike lane.

Ms. Lancaster--
I am writing to alert you about a road hazard on NW 39th Ave.
In the eastbound bike lane, just east of NW 83rd Ave., there
is a grating for a storm water drain. There is a space
between the north edge of the grating and the concrete which
is wide enough to fit a road bike wheel. Last Thursday the
front wheel of my bike did fall into this space. I went
flying over the handlebars and hit the pavement hard. I was
lucky to have avoided serious injury, but the next person who
falls into this trap may be less fortunate. I hope that this
hazard can be repaired soon, before it catches another rider.
