Gainesville Cycling Club members will join the Archer 4H Trailblazers with the support of the City of Archer in a clean-up of wooded mile at the western end of Archer Braid Trail tomorrow from 1:00-5:00pm. Your help is needed to remove garbage from years-old dumping sites and infestations of invasive plants, including coral ardisia and air potato.
Please arrive 10 minutes early to the ABT trailhead below the water tower in Archer, so that we can start promptly at 1:00pm. Parking is available in the grassy field just south of the trailhead and railroad tracks.
Dress appropriately for working in wooded areas. Please bring work gloves, a 5 gallon bucket and any tools you may have, such as litter grabbers, hand trowels, loppers, shovels and rakes. Garden carts and wheelbarrows are needed. If you have a bike cart, this is a great day to show it off and put it to use! Water, Gatorade and light snacks will be provided.
You can find all of the event details
here. Please RSVP on Facebook or by email. The cleanup will go on, rain or shine, and the weather forecast looks favorable.
Show your support for cycling trails by helping make the ABT the best it can be.
Air potatoes along the trail.
