I have been asked to pass the word about three great events occurring the first weekend of February.

Team Florida Alumni are organizing a memorial ride for Paul Corey who passed away last year. Paul was the founder of Bike Route in the early 70′s. He was a great supporter of Team Florida Cycling for many years, and helped promote cycling throughout the Gainesville community.

Team Florida alumni will be hosting two memorial rides on February 1st and 2nd, along with an auction (Feb 1st) of some great bike gear donated by Niner Bikes, Interbike, Six-Speed, fi:zi’k, and more. The proceeds of the auction will help support Team Florida Cycling, and the Fisher House of Gainesville.

Come and join the auction and rides! Team Florida Alumni from all over the US will be participating!

Saturday 1st February there will be a Memorial Ride leaving 8.45 am from French Fries near Turlington on UF Campus.  The ride is posted on the GCC ride calendar.

Saturday Evening 6.00pm there is a reception and silent auction at Bike Works.  So that we have an idea of numbers, please go to Bike Works Facebook Page  and let us know that you are attending.

Team Florida Alumni will be providing food and Bike Works will provide beer, wine and soft drinks. Mike Gann (CEO Niner Bikes) Justin Gottlieb (Interbike) Ravi Rajcoomar (Six Speed) among many others will be there.

Sunday 2nd February there will be a Memorial Ride leaving at 8.45 am from Bike Works. Again the ride is posted on GCC's ride calendar.

Rides are under 70 miles long, with a rest stop half way through the ride.
