Dear Friends:

I call everyone's attention to an article on p. D4 in todays WSJ on the subject of motorists giving space to cyclists. One very useful idea tried by some folks researching the subject in the UK was to make safety vests saying:

POLICE.WITNESS.COM

MOVE OVER

CAMERA CYCLIST

Such wording seems to have inspired motorists to ease over and give the wearers more road space probably on the assumption that the cyclists really were cops. It would be easy to do, and not expensive, and would appear to be perfectly legal. Someone should try it and let me know if it works!
