GCC friends:

Response to Ewen Thomson's petition has been steady since yesterday.  If you have not already done so, please sign the petition TONIGHT!

Currently, the petition has garnered 245 signatures.   GCC has over 1,000 members.  We need to do better than that!  Sign the petition here, tonight, before the deadline passes.

Tomorrow, our Gainesville City Commission meets and the 8th Ave repaving project is one of the agenda items that will be discussed. It will be heard during the AFTERNOON (unfortunately, not the evening) session.

I urge all who support the safety improvements all road users will gain from making permanent the changes, including lane reduction, speed limit reduction, and addition of bike lanes, to this vital east-west corridor to sign the petition and come out and publicly giving your support at tomorrow's Gainesville City Commission meeting.

Although it would have been preferable to have had this agenda item moved to the evening session, to allow more working citizens to attend, I hope that any and all who are free to come out to the early afternoon Commission meeting will do so tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 5th.  The meeting will be held at City Hall (200 E. University Ave, and starts at 1:00 p.m. Public comment is expected to start at approximately 2:00 p.m.
