With all the rain we're getting right now I'd like to remind the mountain bikers of our cycling community to not ride wet trails.  Though riding in mud might make for some good magazine photos, it causes serious erosion to trails.  This is especially true for Florida trails due to the composition of our soils and the lack of rocks.

I'm speaking for the Rock trail since I have some domain over it, but this also goes for San Felasco or any trail in Florida.

So please stay of trails if there is standing water or mud. The dirt roads around here dry out much faster than trails so those are a good option if you don't ride on the road.  Of course our expanding network of paved trails is another good option.

I know that summer in Florida is not the best time of the year to be a mountain biker but if we take care of our trails by not riding them in or after rain they'll be in good shape during our best riding season from October to May.

Thanks,
Clint
